Air Transat to lease 737s

by Matt Falcus

Air TransatAir Transat is to lease four Boeing 737-800 aircraft from International Lease Finance Corporation (ILFC).

The aircraft will operate from Summer 2014 and will form the carrier’s new narrow body fleet, supplementing the wide body Airbus A310 and A330 aircraft used. The lease term on the aircraft is eight years.

The 737s will make a better match for Air Transat’s operations during the winter, when the wide body aircraft often don’t fit demand.
