Home Airport Spotting Guide Dublin Pier D Spotting

Dublin Pier D Spotting

by Matt Falcus

I had the brief chance to experience Dublin’s new Pier D last weekend as I passed through on my stag do. Not much spotting was done, naturally, but I can at least report on the opportunities from here.

The pier is very bright and airy, and has big windows along its length on both sides. You can see most of the airfield and movements from it, although aircraft parked at parts of piers A, B and C are obscured.

The glass is clean enough for photographs.

we spotted from our hotel room ,the one opposite the new aer lingus terminal, did not miss anything, room 260 was good big windows, facing the arrivals and departures, even got a chance to do some eddie spotting as they went past the hotel, the skyview bar was closed at the top end by the windows, due to the enormous loss of business in terminal 1, no sbs needed, dardistown cemetery was across the road and a bank of ireland atm, a shuttle bus was provided by the hotel went out on the hour and quater past each hour no charge as long as it wasbooked by 7.15 the previous day.
