Embraer E2 Rolled Out

Brazilian aircraft manufacturer Embraer has been celebrating the launch of the latest incarnation of its popular E-jet series with the roll out of the E190-E2 at São José dos Campos, Brazil.

Built on the success of the E170, E175, E190 and E195 aircraft, the E2 features a number of modifications aimed at improving the efficiency, costs, power and passenger comfort of the aircraft.

The E2 series will include 175, 190 and 195 variants. Today’s roll out was of the E190-E2 model, which will be the first to fly.

Changes include the powerplant, wing, and landing gear, with the E2 standing slightly taller.

The first deliveries of the type are expected in 2018. It is hoped it will position Embraer to better compete with the Bombardier CSeries.
