Flybe closes UK bases

by Matt Falcus

Flybe has announced it will close a number of its UK airport bases in a bid to restructure the company and strengthen the airline.

Bases at Aberdeen, Guernsey, Inverness, Isle of Man, Jersey and Newcastle are due to close as the airline looks to save £85m over the next few years.

Many job redundancies are expected, along with cuts in the routes the airline serves.

I think this was coming and inevitable. They have been looking for a partner/buyer and it simply seems they have run out of time. I like flying with FlyBe and hope they stay clear of Sou and Exe. Pieter
