Forthcoming Stansted Visitors

Due to forthcoming VIP flights at London Stansted Airport, various parts of the airport and surrounding roads will have restricted access. The details are:

 

– Long Border Road – No stopping or parking allowed.

– Taylors End – No parking of any vehicles unless for work purposes.

– Rough area and mount near FedEx / Long Border Road/Bassingbourn Road – No parking or leaving vehicles. No pedestrian access to this area.

These restricted measures will be in place from 18.00hrs 23rd May 2011 – 18.00hrs 26th May 2011.
The only available area for viewing will be BELMER ROAD, BURTON END, CM24 8UL.
Stansted Airport Police ask that members of the Plane Watch display their badges if they’re watching aircraft at this time. You can join by e-mailing stanstedplanewatch@essex.pnn.police.uk

Glenn, as much as I and all spotters would love to see a schedule for VIP/bizjet/interesting movements for the London Olympics, I doubt we will find out until these aircraft are on the ground! Security will be tighter than we’ve known it for some years, whether the ATC controllers amongst the spotter would be able to publish details, only time will tell. But I’m sure if they can they will.
If not……we’re gonna have a lot of run circling the M25 for 2 days!!!!
