Breeze Airways Reveals A220 Livery

by Matt Falcus

David Neeleman’s startup airline Breeze Airways, which launched earlier this year, has reveleaed the livery its upcoming Airbus A220s will wear.

The first aircraft, an A220-300, was rolled out at the Mobile, AL Airbus plant where it has just been painted. It wears the temporary registration C-GPWQ (msn 55128).

To date Breeze has operated with a fleet of second-hand Embraer 190 aircraft. But once its first A220 has been delivered, new aircraft will follow at a rate of roughly one per month, offering passengers the latest in comfort and the airline the latest in fuel efficiency.

With yesterday’s ceremony, Breeze confirmed it has reached a purchase agreement on 20 more A220s, bringing its order book for the type up to 80.

This first aircraft is due to be delivered before the end of the year. Its range has already led some to speculate Breeze may follow JetBlue’s lead and look to offer transatlantic services to Europe.
