First Look at Lufthansa’s 787

by Matt Falcus

Lufthansa will become one of the newest airlines to fly the Boeing 787 Dreamliner soon, and pictures have emerged of the first aircraft following painting.

The airline shared these images on its social media recently, showing the aircraft – with registration D-ABPA (cn 62730/905) – in the paint hangar after having Lufthansa’s livery applied.

Lufthansa is due to receive 32 Boeing 787-9 aircraft, which will replace older types like the Airbus A340-300. Some of the aircraft will also likely be allocated to partners Swiss International Air Lines and Austrian Airlines.

The airline also recently added seven more 787-9 orders to cover the capacity gap from their delayed 777X order.
