New Danish charter operator Frost this week received its Air Operator’s Certificate, and has recently taken delivery of four Saab 2000 turboprop aircraft to begin operations.
Fans of flying on rarer aircraft may still be slightly frustrated by this, as the airline does not offer scheduled services and only “efficient and flexible on-demand air charter solutions for the 50-seater market with a business aviation state of mind”, according to their website.
However, this is excellent news for still seeing this now rare type in European skies.
Frost’s Saab 2000 Fleet
The fleet of four Saab 2000 aircraft currently flying for Frost are all leased from Jetstream Aviation Capital, and previously flew for Air Leap or NyxAir.
They are:
- OY-FSB (msn 13)
- OY-FSC (msn 39)
- OY-FSD (msn 41)
- OY-FSE (msn 43)
The aircraft retain an all-white scheme.
Where Frost Flies
Frost is based in Copenhagen, however its main operating base is at Malmo Airport.
However, given the nature of its operations its aircraft can realistically be seen all over Europe, and even further afield as demand arises.
Looking at the flight history of the aircraft recently, it can be seen that they have flown to destinations such as Leipzig, Debrecen, Vienna, Vagar, Hamburg and Stockholm Arlanda.
