Geneva Viewing Terrace to Reopen

Great news from Geneva Airport – its terminal’s rooftop panoramic viewing terrace is set to reopen next year following ‘many requests’.

Geneva is Switzerland’s second-busiest airport and receives an interesting mix of traffic from all over the world. I remember vising the terrace in 2006, shortly before it closed, and enjoyed the views over the main parking apron and runway.

You could even see across to the General Aviation area, and any movements using the runway (such as the many biz jets which use Geneva) are also visible.

Photography was also possible with a zoom lens.

Now, according to the airport’s website, the viewing terrace is set to reopen in Spring 2021 following many requests.

As well as being a useful place for spotters to log and photograph aircraft, it was also popular with locals and families watching the aircraft and waving off loved ones.

Stay tuned. We’ll hopefully be able to bring pictures once it opens!
