Hilton Munich Airport Spotting Review

by Matt Falcus

We’ve got another spotting hotel review, thanks to Andrew Whitmore, who recently visited Munich Airport. Here’s his report:

I stayed at the fantastic Hilton Munich Airport, which is located right at the heart of the airport’s two terminals in the central area.

I booked a king size deluxe room, with a request for a room in the new annex of the hotel. These new rooms are allocated in the new north wing.

Floors 5 and 6 are the best for viewing as lower ones can be obstructed by the terminal buildings. On my stay I was allocated room 6209.

However, odd numbered rooms up to 6229 would do. You can easily see and log movements from these rooms.

Later I actually saw the view from 6229, which is a corner end room. It has a full runway view of the northern part of runway 26R and was better for photography.

On my visit the runway direction varied a bit, with one day all using runways 08L and 08R. The last two days of my stay the weather was not as good and 26L/R were in use.
