To mark the arrival of its 50th aircraft, boutique air carrier JSX Air has painted one of its aircraft in a special retro livery.
The aircraft is Embraer 145 N960JX, which joined the air carrier in 2022, but has recently returned to service following a period of storage.
Whilst the livery applied to the aircraft is billed as a retro scheme, it is not one that was ever worn by the air carrier in its early days (JSX was founded as JetSuiteX in 2016). Instead, it is said to be “inspired by the mid-20th-century jet age”.
On first glance, the scheme looks like those worn by many airlines in the 1960s and 70s, and is a really interesting addition to our skies this month. It carries ‘Fly JSX Air’ titles along the forward fuselage, and a red cheatline along the windowline.
At present, the JSX fleet comrpises:
- 15x Embraer 135
- 1x Embraer 140
- 34x Embraer 145
- It also has 2x ATR 42-600 on order.
