The long wait is finally over for Ryanair as its first Boeing 737 MAX aircraft has been delivered.
With over 200 of the type on order, this is a major milestone for the airline, which is one of the world’s largest Boeing 737 operators.
Ryanair has led the way in developing the 737 MAX 8200 model, which features a higher density 197-seat layout of particular interest to low-cost airlines. The type has additional emergency exits to accommodate the passengers safely.
First Aircraft
The first 737 MAX aircraft delivered to Ryanair is EI-HEN (62301/7755).
It was flown non-stop from Boeing Field near Seattle to Ryanair’s Dublin base on 16 June, in a flight time of 9hrs 4 minutes – which shows the capabilities of the MAX aircraft.
EI-HEN will soon be inducted into the fleet and begin flying on the airline’s extensive European network.#
The airline is expecting another 11 737 MAX aircraft to be delivered during 2021, and 50 more in the first half of 2022.
One Aircraft, Three Liveries
Ryanair is to place its Boeing 737 MAX 8200 aircraft with all three of its current brand identities across Europe.
As well as mainline Ryanair, the MAX will also fly for Buzz, based in Poland, and Malta Air base on the Mediterranean island. This picture recently taken at Boeing’s Renton Municipal Airport shows the first examples of all three together prior to delivery.
