Birmingham Airport has grown to become one of the largest and busiest in the UK, with an interesting mix of carriers serving long haul and short haul, as well as charter, low cost and full price scheduled options. The airport also has strong links with carriers serving the Middle East and Indian sub-continent due to the large ethnic population in the UK’s West Midlands.

Spotting at Birmingham is well provided for, with a viewing gallery and well-stocked hobby shop in the main terminal building called the Aviation Experience. Although recent expansion works has somewhat reduced the views from this gallery (which is also behind glass, so not ideal for photographers), this is still pretty much the best place to see all movements.
