WestJet Unveils Toronto Blue Jays Special Livery Boeing 737 MAX 8

Canadian carrier WestJet has unveiled a striking new special livery Boeing 737 MAX 8 celebrating its long-running partnership with Major League Baseball’s Toronto Blue Jays.

The aircraft, registered C-GORP (fleet number 386), was revealed at WestJet’s Toronto Pearson hangar during a special event attended by almost 1,000 employees, Blue Jays representatives, community members, former players Edwin Encarnación and Pat Borders, and the team’s mascot, ACE. The aircraft is scheduled to enter service from Toronto Pearson on 24 June.

The design combines the iconic blue colours of the baseball team with sweeping graphics intended to represent both an aircraft taking off and a baseball soaring from the bat. The special scheme marks the renewal of WestJet’s partnership with the Toronto Blue Jays, a relationship that began in 2012 and has now been extended for a further seven years. The unveiling also coincides with milestone anniversaries for both organisations, with the Blue Jays celebrating their 50th season and WestJet marking 30 years of operations.

The addition of C-GORP gives aviation enthusiasts another special aircraft to watch for across Canada and the wider WestJet network, at a time when special liveries have become increasingly rare within the airline’s fleet.

WestJet Fleet Overview

Founded in 1996, WestJet has grown from a low-cost regional carrier into Canada’s second-largest airline. Today, the airline operates a fleet of more than 180 aircraft, centred around the Boeing 737 family, including 737-700s, 737-800s and large numbers of Boeing 737 MAX 8 aircraft. The carrier also flies Boeing 787-9 Dreamliners on long-haul international services and operates dedicated cargo aircraft through WestJet Cargo. Following the integration of Sunwing Airlines, additional Boeing 737 aircraft have also joined the fleet.

For plane spotters, C-GORP is likely to become one of the most sought-after aircraft in the fleet as it carries Toronto Blue Jays branding across WestJet’s domestic and international network.
