Cathay Pacific introduced the Airbus A321neo aircraft to its fleet in 2021. This was a surprise move for many as, for many years, the airline had operated a fleet of solely widebody aircraft.
The introduction of the A321neo came about when the airline closed down its Cathay Dragon subsidiary and integrated the order for these new aircraft into its own fleet.
It allowed Cathay Pacific to offer a greater range of services, with many regional destinations around China and the Far East now served by the carrier which previously could not justify a widebody aircraft.
Cathay Pacific’s A321neos have 12 business class seats, spread across three rows, in a 2-2 configuration, with 190 economy class seats. They wear the standard livery of the airline and are based at Hong Kong Chek Lap Kok airport.
