Lufthansa special liveries
As Lufthansa continues to mark its 100th anniversary, two more special livery aircraft have been spotted. Already delivered are two aircraft wearing the special centennary scheme, including Boeing 787-9 D-ABPU and Airbus A320neo D-AING. Now, another aircraft has appeared in this scheme, along with one wearing a special retro livery as seen on Lufthansa’s aircraft decades ago.

Lufthansa Airbus A350 100th Anniversary

The first is Airbus A350-941 D-AIXL which is wearing the blue centennary livery. It arrived in Munich from the paint shop at Chateauroux on 2nd February and will begin flying on the airline’s long-haul network out of the Bavarian city.

Lufthansa Retro Airbus A321

Next, and as far as we can tell not part of the announcements about special liveries, is Airbus A321-200 D-AISZ which wears this retro livery. The aircraft is expected to arrive in Frankfurt on the afternoon of 3rd February and begin flying on the airline’s European network immediately. This design, known as the parable scheme, was introduced in the mid-1950s and was inspired by the streamlined trend of the 1930s. It appeared on classic types like the Lockheed Super Star.
More aircraft are expected to appear in the 100th anniversary livery soon. The next should be Airbus A380 D-AIMH, followed by a Boeing 747-8. Keep your eyes peeled and cameras ready!

1995 seems like only a couple of years ago to someone my age.

Can’t imagine life before low cost!

I grew up with BOAC and BEA !
