Finnair Adds Moomins to Aircraft

by Matt Falcus

Finnair has added Moomins to two of its aircraft to celebrate its centennary.

Two of the most famous Moomin characters, Moomintroll and Snorkmaiden, will adorn the airline’s A350 aircraft this year, enjoying an embrace to mark the airline’s founding in 1923.

The Moomins are one of Finland’s best-known exports and a symbol of national pride.

They can be found on Airbus A350-900s OH-LWO and OH-LWP now.

“The Moomin brand presents travellers with a warm welcome to Finland,” says Roleff Kråkström, CEO of Moomin Characters. “People have come to know the characters through our books and animations, associating Moomin with the timeless values of tolerance, acceptance and friendship.”

Finnair’s latest Moomin adventure is one of many experiences Finnair is sharing with customers this year as part of its centenary celebrations, under the banner ‘Bringing us together since 1923’.

In addition to Moomins appearing on the A350s, the slogan “Bringing Us Together” will also be visible on three other Finnair aircraft – OH-LWR (A350), OH-LXM (A320) and OH-LXK (A320).
