Flying Kostroma-Avia An-26 in Russia

by Matt Falcus

One of the last chances to fly on an Antonov An-26 in Russia on a regular scheduled service is with Kostroma-Avia.

The historic turboprop type is used on the airline’s regular Kostroma to St. Petersburg route, flown 3 times per week.

Alexander Sosnin recently took a flight with the airline on this aircraft type with a group of aviation enthusiasts, and posted these pictures (on the Special Flights Enthusiasts Facebook page).

You can also fly on the airline’s An-26 from Kostroma to Anapa during the summer months, and the airline plans to start summer-only flights to Kazan.

Kostroma-Avia’s website is: http://kostroma-avia.ru/

Thanks to Alexander Sosnin for sharing these pictures.
