Italy’s ITA Airways has received its first Airbus A220-300 aircraft.

Instead of the striking blue livery the airline’s aircraft usually wear, this one wears a special ‘Born to be Sustainable’ livery, recognising the fact that, according to the airline, “the Airbus A220 is the most efficient small-scale single-corridor aircraft in its category, it’s lighter, quieter and will benefit the Company 25% reduction in consumption and emissions of CO2 per passenger compared to the previous generation. ”

This aircraft, with registration EI-HHI (cn 55168) is one of four the airline has on order.

Previously destined for Russia’s Azimuth Airlines, the aircraft arrived in Rome Fiumicino yesterday and will enter service on 16 October.
