Embraer Reveals First Converted Freighter

by Matt Falcus

Embraer has revealed its first freighter aircraft converted from a passenger airliner.

The E190F model successfully completed its first flight earlier this month in São José dos Campos, Brazil. The Embraer team flew the E-Freighter jet for around two hours, carrying out a complete evaluation of the aircraft, which will continue testing before entering operation. The aircraft belongs to Regional One, a leasing company from the United States.

The first flight is part of a series of evaluations that Embraer is conducting before the E-Freighter jets enter into operation.

The E190F and E195F conversion programme was launched in 2022 and will soon see these converted freighters enter commercial service.

This first aircraft is N986TA (msn 19000360), an Embraer 190IWG (F) which previously flew with TACA International and Avianca Central America.
