The Maho Beach Resort at Sint Maarten – famous for the low flying jets over the beach – is a great spotting hotel.
Now, the same owners have opened an alternative hotel right next door.
The Sonesta Ocean Point is a luxury resort hotel which is adult-only, so if you value peace and quiet without kids running around it’s a better choice for you.
It is just as convenient for Maho Beach, and features a Caribbean theme and great views of the action.
Most of the 129Â suites have a view of aircraft approaching the runway over the beach at Princess Juliana Airport, and it’s possible to take great photographs from your room. You can also watch aircraft from the three pools and beach.
The hotel also features the AZUL restaurant, which sits atop a cliff and has great views of aircraft approaching the runway.
